My Weight Loss Journey | Week 8 Update
It has been 2 months since I began my weight loss journey. I can honestly say I have never made it this far and this long. I had a bit of a time getting my daily cleaning tasks, but, I am getting ready to pick that ball back up.
Week 8: 208.8 lbs, a loss of just a little less than a pound.
I am okay with this, a slow weight loss is a permanent weight loss. With each pound lost, I am learning new things about myself. I’m gaining the courage to face my social anxiety, to stand up for myself, and to find healthier ways to communicate with my friends and family.
It’s So Much More Than A Number On A Scale
This weight loss journey is teaching me that my weight was never the problem, it was the solution. It was my solution to navigate and cope with negative self-thoughts. Once I started focusing on how I treat myself and those around me, I began to understand that the weight was a security blanket. I could just call someone shallow if they didn’t like me. I didn’t have to look at any other reasons. Now, I can face my demons and become better. I am understanding who I am more every day. This weight loss is making me a better friend, wife, and eventually (hopefully,) mother.
